    It is with great pleasure we welcome Dr. Nagy to the Sonoma Humane Society Public Veterinary Hospital team.

  • Katy Nilsen, RVT

    RVT
    Katy began her career in 2002 as a kennel technician.  She realized veterinary medicine was the career for her and got her A.S. degree in veterinary science from the Bel Rae Institute.  After working in Emergency, with Surgical Specialists and other general practices she ended up at the Sonoma Humane Society.

    When not at work Katy enjoys time with her pets and boyfriend hiking and adventuring and gardening.

  • Shannon Minson

    Veterinary Assitant
    Even as a child, friends and family would come to Shannon with strays or concerns about their pet.  Shannon has volunteered with various animal organizations through the years.  She started as an animal care volunteer at Sonoma Humane Society in 2014.  Shortly after she was hired in the shelter department and in 2016 she moved to our Public Hospital as a veterinary assistant.

    When not at work Shannon enjoys reading, taking care of her house plants and hiking with her chihuahua, Kuma.

  • Cheri Lessnau

    Veterinary Assistant

    Cheri began at the Sonoma Humane Society in 2011 as a volunteer. In 2012 she accepted a position as a veterinary assistant. Cheri splits her time working 3 days a week in the spay/neuter clinic and 2 days a week with the veterinary hospital. Born and raised in Chico, Cheri moved to Los Angeles for 10 years where worked for a Plastic Surgeon in Beverly Hills. Known as "The Mother Teresa of cats" by her husband, she was fast convinced to pursue what she loved most, animals and medicine. She is currently attending the Veterinary Technician program through Penn Foster college with the goal of becoming a Registered Veterinary Technician. Cheri lives with "the best husband and two amazing sons" along with a menagerie of feline friends who fill up most of her time away from work.  Her pack includes a 17 year old Siamese mix, Finnegan, two 3 year old cats, Bear and Owen as well as Charlie, a 7 year old who has adopted her home along with 4 neighborhood cats who like to call their yard "home". Some of her hobbies include cooking, gardening and quilting.

    Kourtney started at the Sonoma Humane Society as an Animal Care Technician.  She moved to Customer Service at the Public Hospital in 2017.
  • Sara Keller RVT

    Public Services Manager

    Sara was born and raised in the south bay area.  She started in Veterinary Medicine in 2003 and got her RVT license in 2005.  In 2014 she graduated with her bachelor's degree on Small Business Management and moved to the north bay.
    She started working at the Sonoma Humane Society in May 2017.
